1. Invite someone to window shop with you. Window shopping is much more fun if you have a companion with you. Set an agreeable date and get ready for some good gossip while window shopping.

2. Pick a location for your window shopping. Malls are usually a good place to start. They have department stores that have everything including furniture and clothing.

3. Look at the windows and decide whether you like the displays or not. If you see something you like, go in and try it on--just because you try it on doesn't mean you have to buy it. Half the fun in window shopping is enjoying yourself and trying on clothes is part of the fun.

4. Check out the furniture in the store. Window shopping isn't just looking at the displays in the window--it also includes window shopping in the store. This can help you decide in the future what you would like to have in your home.

5. Leave your money, credit cards and checkbook at home. Only bring along enough cash for lunch, if it's going to be a long day. Otherwise, you might be tempted to purchase something when the purpose of the trip is just to look.

6. Enjoy yourself. You don't have to plan for window shopping--just go with the flow and have a good time.
