Just imagine making and enjoying your own delicious sushi rolls. There are many different types of sushi roll recipes that are easy to make. You can use a variety of fillings, such as crab, tofu, shrimp, avocado, salmon, rice and spicy tuna.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Bamboo mat
  • Nori
  • Water
  • Sushi rice
  • Wasabi
  • Fish
  • Vegetables
  1. Step 1

Lay the bamboo mat on a flat surface for sushi assembly. Put one nori, shiny side down, on top of the bamboo mat

  2. Step 2

Keep your hands moist or damp with water and spoon a couple of tablespoons of sushi rice on top of the nori. Spread it over the seaweed, covering it completely.

  3. Step 3

Use your hands to gently flatten the seaweed near the sides to create firm edges. Leave yourself about an inch at the top of each nori for sealing.

  4. Step 4

Spread a little wasabi over the top of the rice and create a layer affect with your choice of fish or seafood and a selection of vegetables.

  5. Step 5

Keep the fillings in place and begin rolling the bamboo mat while pressing firmly. Dampen the seaweed edge and seal it tightly.

  6. Step 6

Remove the mat carefully and press in any unsealed ends. Place the sushi, seam side down, on a cutting board and slice it with a damp, sharp knife into 1-inch rounds.

Tips & Warnings
  • For best results, cut the sushi firmly and straight down, rather than sawing it.
  • If you don't have a bamboo mat, you can use wax paper or a pastry sheet for sushi rolling.
