Earthlink has a web mail service that allows access to your account from anywhere in the world. Video email, or videomail, requires installation of a video camera and additional components for email programs. Use of videomail is not widespread yet, but it is gaining popularity.

Things You'll Need:

  • Outlook Video Email Add-in
  1. Step 1

Set up an email account with Earthlink. Use Microsoft Outlook for your default email program. Upgrade to Outlook 2003 or higher. If Outlook 2003 does not work with your computer due to outdated hardware, it is unlikely that videomail will work with your system.

  2. Step 2

Install the Video E-mail add-in for Outlook. This add-in allows video emailing to work seamlessly with your PC. You can download it directly from the Microsoft download center.

  3. Step 3

Create a user name and password for your Earthlink email account. For home PC users, Earthlink allows up to eight email accounts on one user's account. This allows families to log in to Earthlink and maintain their privacy.

  4. Step 4

Setup your email account to work with your web browser and mail program. Video email using Outlook is the easiest to setup, but Earthlink provides support for many other popular email programs, such as Eudora and Mozilla's Thunderbird.
