Gifts are always better when they come from the heart. Instead of buying a gift to give your significant other on Valentine's Day, consider making something unique for this special occasion. Think carefully about what your sweetheart would want.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Make "love bucks," a unique twist on the traditional "coupons" that couples can give to each other. You can make a price list and give your significant other fake dollars ("love bucks") to make purchases with. Your price list can include a special dinner, a back rub and sexual favors.

  2. Step 2

Create a CD collection for him. Burn CDs of music you know he likes and decorate the CDs by painting on them. Buy a case to put the discs in and consider personalizing it in some way.

  3. Step 3

Design jewelry to give to your significant other as a Valentine's Day gift. Head to a craft store and buy beading string along with unique charms or beads. Make a bracelet or necklace that she can wear.

  4. Step 4

Buy some things to put in a gift basket. If it's for your boyfriend or husband, fill the basket with gear from his favorite sports team and perhaps add some tickets to a game. For women, consider putting together a pretty basket with bath salts and a good book.

  5. Step 5

Give your lover a scrapbook you made of pictures and keepsakes you have from over the years, like ticket stubs from concerts you've attended together. This is sure to be a Valentine's gift he will treasure for years to come; you can add to it as time goes on and you have more pictures and memories.

  6. Step 6

Decorate a picture frame in a unique way. Craft stores sell plain frames that you can customize to your liking. Put a good picture of the two of you in the frame and present it to your significant other on Valentine's Day.
