Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Container
  • Filler Material
  • Chocolates
  • Ribbon or Cellophane
  1. Step 1

Choose a theme for your chocolate gift basket. You aren't limited to using actual baskets as your container for the chocolate. Based on your recipient's interests, you could use any kind of container--even a watering can or a football helmet. The point is to personalize your gift and make it special, so be creative.

  2. Step 2

Find your filler materials. You can use tissue paper, fabric, shredded paper, or any kind of soft material to pad the bottom of your container. Just be sure to choose something with a pattern or color that enhances your theme. Line the bottom of your container with this material for a polished look.

  3. Step 3

Buy your chocolates. Be sure to set a budget beforehand, as shopping for chocolates can quickly get out of hand. Decide if you want to use one kind of chocolate or a variety and whether you want to focus on quality or quantity. Just keep the recipient in mind when making your choices, and your chocolate gift basket is sure to please.

  4. Step 4

Add a few personal touches based on your recipient and your gift basket's theme. For a gourmet basket, you might want to add a nice red wine to complement the chocolates. In a romantic gift, you can add a flower or a piece of jewellery. For a child's basket, you can include a stuffed animal or other toy. Make the gift basket about the recipient, and your imagination is the limit.

  5. Step 5

Fill the container with your gifts, arranging them so that every item is visible. Then finish off the basket with a themed-ribbon or a cellophane wrap to highlight all the hard work you put into your amazing chocolate gift.

on 3/24/2009 As far as gift baskets are concerned, I recently received a beautiful selection that I found out was called the “share the season” basket from http://www.basketsbeautifulgifts.com. It had, amongst other things: brie wedges, smoked almonds, milk chocolate covered pretzels, preserves, and a very nice gift box. I might have to push back my New Year’s resolution for a couple weeks because of all of the delicacies I recently received, but my taste buds definitely think it’s worth it.
