The Motorola Razr should come to you ready to use and unlocked if you acquired the phone through normal channels. However, once in a while the company makes a mistake and fails to unlock the Razr, making it useless to you. Fortunately, there are several ways you can lift this lock.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

Contact your service provider and ask them for the code. Look in your instruction manual or on your service agreement for the contact information. Be aware that not all companies are willing to give this information out due to steps they take to discourage theft.

  2. Step 2

Visit the store you purchased the phone. Tell the representative it is locked and you want the code. Depending on the store, the employee will either give you the code or you will have to wait several days to get confirmation from the phone company.

  3. Step 3

Find a remote unlocking service. There are several companies that offer this service online, and they have a limited selection of phones so find one for your particular Motorola Razr. For a fee these companies provide you with the unlock code for your phone.

  4. Step 4

Select your phone's make and model from the choices and enter the phone's serial number in the appropriate field. In addition, you will be asked to provide your credit card information. Be sure you are willing to pay the fee to get this information, in addition to being positive it is a secure ordering site.

  5. Step 5

Input the code into your Motorola Razr once you have paid the website and received the unlock code. Your phone should instantly be accessible and able to be used. If this does not happen, double check that you requested the right make and model's code.
