Step 1
Use a sil-nylon repair kit for fixing nylon zippers. If hot embers find their way to your raincoat's nylon zipper, you can quickly fix up the tear or hole with your sil-nylon repair kit.
-
Step 2
Cover the holes with duct tape in a pinch. Turn the torn rain gear inside-out. Flatten the garment with your hands, making sure join the torn ends of the material overlap by at least an inch. Neatly place duct tape over the torn ends, pressing firmly to seal out moisture. Turn the rain gear right side out. No one will ever notice the rain gear was torn.

Step 3
Repair any holes in your rain gear with a clear tenacious sealing and repair tape. This clear tape has a non-glossy, matte finish. It sticks to the inside surface of your rain gear.
-
Step 4
Purchase some see-through patches or various colors of repair tape. Cut the tape or patch to size, peel it and stick. Repair tape and patches work great for mending all rain gear, including parkas, backpacks or tents.
