Step 1
Go to The International Veterinary Acupuncture Society's (IVAS) website to search for clinics and veterinarians in your area. Members of the IVAS must be veterinarians and must have gone through certification to be on the list.
-
Step 2
Contact the American Academy of Veterinary Acupuncture (AAVA) for a national listing of veterinarians that practice acupuncture. The AAVA has associations with the IVAS.
-
Step 3
Try going to the American Holistic Veterinary Medical Association's website (AHVMA). While there are other holistic practices listed here, you may be able to find a veterinary acupuncture clinic here.
-
Step 4
Speak to your regular veterinarian. Perhaps they know of someone in your area they can recommend to you that practices acupuncture on animals. In some states, human acupuncturists can work on animals.
-
Step 5
Make sure any veterinarian you choose has training and/or certification in acupuncture since this is a relatively new practice for vets.
