- Microsoft Publisher 2007

Step 1
Start Microsoft Publisher 2007 and open a publication from your files that contains a paragraph with a drop cap that you want to edit.

Place the insertion point in the paragraph with the drop cap you want to edit by clicking anywhere in that paragraph.

Choose the "Format" menu and click "Drop Cap" to open a dialog box. Click the "Custom Drop Cap" tab at the top of the box to display the custom settings.

Edit the position and size of the drop cap in the "Select letter position and size" section. Drop the drop cap or enter a custom number of lines for the drop cap to drop down into. Choose the size of the cap and indicate how may letters you want capped. A preview on the right side of the dialog box will display the changes to the drop cap as you are editing.

Step 5
Set the appearance of the drop cap in the "Select letter appearance" of the dialog box. Choose the font, font style and color for the cap. You can use the current settings for font, font style and color in this section.

Step 6
Click the "OK" button to close the dialog box. Save the edits you have made to the selected drop cap.
