Things You'll Need:

  • Microsoft Publisher 2007
  1. Step 1

Start Microsoft Publisher 2007 and open a document from your files that contains a paragraph to which you would like to add a pre-formatted drop cap.

  2. Step 2

Place your insertion point in the paragraph where you would like to add the drop cap by clicking anywhere in the paragraph. The drop cap will automatically be applied to the first letter in the paragraph.

  3. Step 3

Choose the "Format" menu and click on "Drop Cap" to open the Drop Cap dialog box. Click on the "Drop Cap" tab at the top of the dialog box, if necessary, to display the pre-formatted drop caps.

  4. Step 4

Select a style of drop cap you would like to apply to your Publisher document by clicking on one from the "Available drop caps" scroll box. A preview of the drop cap you have selected will display on the right side of the dialog box.

  5. Step 5

Click the "OK" button once you have selected a pre-formatted drop cap that you want to apply to the selected Publisher paragraph. The dialog box will close and the drop cap will be applied to the paragraph that holds the insertion point.
