How to Get a Job Teaching Fitness Center Classes
If you have a passion for fitness, you may want to think about getting a job at a gym. You don't have to apply for a standard personal training job, though; you can do something more fun, like teaching a class. If you know how to choreograph a routine and motivate students, this may be the job for you.
Instructions

1
Locate the fitness centers in your town. Jot down the address of each center and make a list to keep track of where you've applied. Take a look at the class schedule for each gym to see if there are any areas that are lacking.
-
2
Put together a resume outlining your credentials. Even if you're never held a job teaching classes, play up other qualities potential employers might look for, such as being a self-starter, punctual, reliable, a quick learner and enthusiastic.
-
-
3
Type up a cover letter expressing your interest in getting a job as a teacher in a fitness center. This letter should be short and sweet, just basically explaining that you're looking for a job and that you'd like to set up an interview. If you have expertise in an area not represented on the current class schedule, perhaps you can use this to your advantage so point it out in the letter.
-
4
Send a copy of both your resume and cover letter to each center you included on your list of places to apply.
-
5
Choreograph a sample class routine. If any of the centers ask you to come in for an interview, the interviewer may ask about routines you like to do.

Tips & Warnings
Just try to get a job teaching a class once a week or every two weeks. Consider it a trial period to see how well you and the fitness center mesh together. You can use this to gain experience and confidence in your job as well.
