How to Do Kashmiri Yoga
Kashmiri yoga is an ancient form of yoga that dates back to the 8th century. Today, the ancient Kashmir teachings are coupled with modern insights into our nervous systems, resulting in a yoga form that returns your body to a "light open free state" like that of a child. Kashmiri yoga brings awareness to your state of being.

1
Check out local yoga studios for classes in Kashmiri yoga. It is best to take a class first to learn the basics and then you can practice on your own whenever you want. Gyms and local recreation centers may also offer yoga classes so be sure to check there as well.
-
2
Learn the traditional postures, called asanas. Asanas (like stretches), when done correctly, allow you to find a feeling of lightness and openness while being completely grounded.

3
Focus on your breathing. Kashmiri yoga focuses on four stages of breathing: inhalation, space, exhalation, space, with the major focus being on the spaces in between. Tuning in to those pauses provides you with the lightness Kashmiri yoga strives to find.
-
4
Meditate to shift your focus from thinking to being. Become fully present in your life and experience it fully by becoming aware of yourself.
