Instructions

    • 1

Cut two pieces from the birch branch, a larger one for the reindeer's body and a smaller one for the reindeer's head.

    • 2

Divide one dowel into four equal pieces that will be the reindeer's legs. Drill four angled holes, and insert the dowel pieces into the holes, securing them with a bit of hot glue.

    • 3

Use another, shorter piece of dowel to create a neck that will connect the head to the body.

    • 4

Drill some small holes on the top of the head and insert two birch twig antlers.

    • 5

Glue two googly eyes on the head, or paint two eyes with black and white paint.

    • 6

Give the reindeer a red bead nose and a cotton ball tail, securing each with hot glue.

Tips & Warnings

  • Your birch branch reindeer can be as large or as small as you like. Just choose the birch branches and twigs accordingly, and buy appropriately sized dowels to match.

  • Birch is a very good wood for craft projects, but you can make reindeer out of any wood you like, such as maple, ash or pine.
