How to Request a Voting Ballot by Mail
Voting is a privilege to those that qualify. Voting by mail or absentee voting is a convenience for many. Many states now allow voters to request a mail ballot without any reason. Some examples of vote by mail are one-time and permanently or temporarily overseas. Absentee ballots are useful for those that have trouble getting to the polls or know they will be away on election day.

Locate your state or county office. Contact them by mail, phone or email to request an absentee ballot.

Request your absentee ballot a minimum of one month prior to the election, if possible. Return the ballot at least one week prior to election to ensure your ballot counts for the election.

Visit the local office of the political party of your choice. Obtain party information about candidates, volunteer opportunities to aid in political activities, obtain signs and absentee voting ballot.
