Things You'll Need:
- Exfoliating scrub
- Shaving gel
- Clean, sharp razor
- Mild soap
- Diaper-rash or cortisone cream
- Unscented lotion
-
Step 1
Shave in the shower, and save it for the end of your shower. The steam softens both your skin and hair.
-
Step 2
Exfoliate your bikini area using a gentle exfoliating scrub. This removes dead skin cells and helps to prevent ingrown hairs.
-
Step 3
Apply a thin coating of shaving gel. This allows your razor to glide easily over your skin, slicing through the hair rather than pulling it out.
-
Step 4
Stand with legs spread, or even with one leg raised onto a secure surface. Shave in the direction of hair growth using a clean and sharp razor.
-
Step 5
Shave over each area as few times as possible using long, smooth strokes. Use your non-shaving hand to pull your skin taught.
-
Step 6
Thoroughly wash and rinse your bikini area with warm water after you shave it. Pat dry and apply a toner with witch hazel or rosemary to prevent red bumps.
-
Step 7
Moisturize with diaper-rash cream or cortisone cream and unscented lotion.
