How to Identify Any Song in Grand Theft Auto IV

One celebrated aspect of the Grand Theft Auto video games--especially Grand Theft Auto IV--is the in-game soundtrack. Featuring a wide and varied selection, there's certainly something for everybody. GTA IV allows you to identify and purchase any in-game song you hear. Take the music out of Liberty City and into the real world.

Instructions

    • 1

Use your cell phone. Anytime you hear a song you want to know more about, pull out your cell phone by pressing up on the D-pad. Then press up on the D-pad again to access the keypad on the phone.

    • 2

Call ZiT, the Liberty City music identification service, by dialing (ZIT) 555-0100 or (948) 555-0100 and hit send. You'll hear a pre-recorded message from Lazlow while ZiT "listens" to the song.

    • 3

Check your text messages once the call is over. ZiT will send you a text with the name of the artist and the song.

    • 4

Buy the song, if you like. To purchase the song, you must have an account on both Xbox Live and the Rockstar Social Club, which is the official website of the game. Any songs you "grab" with ZiT in the game will be listed on your account in the Social Club, which provides a link to Amazon where each song is available for purchase.

Tips & Warnings

  • Becoming a member of the Rockstar Social Club is free.
