It's possible to stay cool in the summer and still style your hair in a cute, fashionable way. There are few things worse on a hot summer day than your hair sticking to your skin, so get it off your neck and breathe a little bit easier. Follow these steps to make a cool hairdo.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Hair brush
  • Comb
  • Hairspray
  • Barrettes or clips
  • Head bands
  1. Step 1

Gather your hair at the nape of your neck with an elastic. Tie it tightly. Put on a thin elastic headband. Use your fingers or the end of a comb to puff the hair up on top of your hair. This will create height on the top of your head.

  2. Step 2

Wrap a thick headband around your head. The thickness of the fabric will keep your hair off your neck. If it's long, tie it underneath, at the nape of your neck.

  3. Step 3

Hold all your hair in one hand, Twist it up, using a counter clockwise rotation. Lay it against your head and attach the ends with a barrette or clip.

  4. Step 4

Tie your hair at the nape of your neck loosely with a ribbon or elastic. Allow hair to fall out on the sides, near your ears, for a flowy and romantic look.

  5. Step 5

Make a high ponytail at the crown of your hair. This works if your hair is medium to long. It's a fun, flirty look that's easy to achieve.

Tips & Warnings
  • Always spray your hairdo with hairspray when finished. It will keep it in place. Just use a little if you don't want it to look rigid or fixed.
  • Use decorative pins to dress up your cool hairdo. Stick them anywhere to compliment the look.
