Many people today are obese. Many others smoke even though we know the dangers to our health from smoking. Many people have debilitating diseases either mental or physical that makes their lives hard to live. One solution that may help with these issues and other health issues is self-hypnosis.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Use self-hypnosis for the health issue you are dealing with. Even if you are a novice, you can use self-hypnosis and succeed in reducing or eliminating your health issue.

  2. Step 2

Sit in a comfortable chair and prepare to put yourself in a hypnotic trance. Relax your entire body. Now starting with your toes and working upward relax each part of your body deeply.

  3. Step 3

Say to yourself, I relax my toes and feel the toes relax. Now say I relax my feet and feel your feet relax. Continue up the body in this way; relax legs, thighs, hips, stomach, shoulders, neck and head. Feel nothing now except complete relaxation.

  4. Step 4

Tell yourself you are not going to sleep. Now tell yourself that you want to make a change. Review the health issue you need help with, chronic pain, depression or whatever it is.

  5. Step 5

Give yourself short, explicit instructions and suggestions. "I will smile when I feel depressed. I will manage my pain with laughter."

  6. Step 6

Provide positive reinforcement. It works better if you give positive suggestions instead of negative ones. Instead of "I will not give in to dark thoughts. Say, "I will read an uplifting poem." Your mind acts quicker with positive suggestions.

  7. Step 7

End the session by counting from five to one. Say "Five, I will open my eyes at the count of one and feel refreshed and positive. Four, I feel great and cannot wait to put my suggestions to work. Three, I feel refreshed and energized. Two, I am ready to open my eyes. One, my eyes are open and I am ready for my day." Practice self-hypnosis for health every day for results.
