Things You'll Need:
- Four jacks
- Lug nut wrench
-
Step 1
Park the car on a flat surface and place a piece of wood behind the back tires to keep the car from rolling while you jack up the front of the car. Loosen all the lug nuts on each of the tires.
-
Step 2
Place two jacks under the front of the vehicle, one on each side, and then lift the rear up on another two jack stands. Jack up the car leaving just enough room to take off tires.
-
Step 3
Move the passenger side rear tire to the front, and the passenger side front to the driver side rear. Switch the driver side rear tire to the front and the driver side front tire to the passenger side rear. Continue with this "X" pattern every time you rotate the tires.
-
Step 4
Tighten the lug nuts by hand to hold the tires on when you lower the car.
-
Step 5
Lower the rear first and replace the wood behind the tires. Lower the front end and then go around and tighten each lug nut to its tightest fit. If on a lift, lower the whole car and tighten the lug nuts.
-
Step 6
Adjust the front and rear tire pressure according to specs in the driver side door.
