When treacherous weather strikes, you want to make sure that you have properly functioning wiper blades on your Cadillac Escalade. Here's how to replace those wipers blades so that you'll be ready for rain, sleet and snow, in just a few minutes.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Replacement wiper blades for Cadillac Escalade
  1. Step 1

Raise the wiper blade arm away from the windshield until it holds itself in place.

  2. Step 2

Turn the wiper blade so that it is facing away from the windshield. The wiper blade will have some give to it once it's in the service position.

  3. Step 3

Press down on the release lever. This will free the wiper blade from the wiper arm. Cadillac refers to the wiper arm as the "wiper blade assembly."

  4. Step 4

Slide the wiper blade toward the driver's side of the SUV.

  5. Step 5

Remove and discard the wiper blade once it is completely off the wiper arm.

  6. Step 6

Insert the replacement wiper blade on the wiper arm assembly and slide it along until you hear a "click." The replacement wiper blade is now securely into place.

  7. Step 7

Repeat these steps with the other wiper blade to complete the job.

Tips & Warnings
  • Cadillac suggests that the wiper blades be checked every 6 months for wear and cracking. If the wiper blades appear brittle, then they need to be changed.
  • Cadillac also notes in their owner's manual that some Escalade models use different length wiper blades. It suggests that you check the section called "Normal Maintenance Replacement Parts" in your owner's manual to make sure you purchase the right size. If you're purchasing direct from the dealer, however, the size will be correct.
