Things You'll Need:
- Screwdrivers
- Wiring harness adaptor
- Chrysler adaptor sleeve
-
Step 1
Disconnect the negative battery cable from the terminal and set it away from any metal parts. Lift the steering wheel to the highest position.
-
Step 2
Pry at the upper right corner of the trim surrounding the stereo with your fingers. Continue applying firm pressure until all four of the clips unsnap.
-
Step 3
Locate and remove the two bolts holding the stereo in the dash. Pull the head unit out of the dash and unplug the antenna wire, one black and one gray wire connector. Let the wires hang from the front of the dash.
-
Step 4
Slide the new stereo into the Chrysler adaptor sleeve and secure it per the manufacturer's instructions. Connect the black and gray cables to the wiring harness adaptor, then onto the back of the new stereo. Plug in the antenna wire and slide the radio into the dash, taking care not to crimp or pinch the wires.
-
Step 5
Reconnect the negative battery cable and turn the radio on. Test the speakers and stereo controls to ensure they are working correctly. Replace the two bolts to secure the radio in the dash and snap the trim into place.
