Despite its burly construction and refined interior, your Lincoln Navigator needs regular maintenance to live a long and healthy life. One easy maintenance task you can perform on your own between oil changes is replenishing its supply of windshield washer fluid. You don't need any special tools and the job only takes a few minutes to finish.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Funnel
  • Windshield washer concentrate
Step1
Turn off your Navigator's engine and remove the keys from the ignition.
Step2
Pull the hood release latch located beneath the bottom left corner of the instrument panel.
Step3
Exit your Navigator and find the yellow auxiliary release latch located beneath its hood. Slide the latch to the left to open the hood.
Step4
Raise the hood with your hands until the hydraulic lift cylinders hold it open.
Step5
Find the windshield washer fluid reservoir in the bottom left corner of the engine bay. It's covered with a square-looking, black cap.
Step6
Open the reservoir cap, place a funnel into the opening and pour the additional washer fluid into the reservoir until it's full.
Step7
Remove the funnel, close the reservoir cap and lower the hood.

Tips & Warnings

  • Use a windshield washer fluid with antifreeze protection if you plan on operating your Navigator in temperatures below 45 degrees F.
  • Lincoln recommends using Motorcraft's Ultra Clear Windshield Washer Concentrate, which has antifreeze protection.
