Things You'll Need:
-
Step 1
Collect calendars. At the end of the year, let everyone know that you want their old calendars.
-
Step 2
Make greeting cards. Fold a piece of 8 ½” by 11” cardstock in half. Cut out a photograph from a calendar page to fit the folded section and use a glue stick to attach the photograph to the cardstock. Write your message inside.
-
Step 3
Create funny pictures. This is a great craft activity for kids. Cut out parts of a page from one calendar and glue them on to another calendar page. Cut out a surfer and put him on top of a snowy mountain or put a skyscraper on a tropical beach. Use old catalogs and magazines if you need more photographs.
-
Step 4
Make a puzzle. Glue a calendar page to a piece of cardboard and cut into several pieces.
-
Step 5
Put a page in a picture frame and display the page if the photograph is nice enough. Sometimes cutting the page down to a smaller size looks better.
-
Step 6
Put together a memory box. Buy inexpensive wooden boxes at a craft store. Cut out the parts of the calendar page that you would like to use on the box and use Mod Podge to glue them to the box. Finish with a protective coat of Mod Podge on top of the box.

on 9/26/2008 This sounds like so much fun! Great idea for recycling an item that normally sees the trash at the end of the year.
