Next time your about to throw that soda can away, think again. You could be throwing money in the trash. Aluminum is something that could make you a little bit of extra cash, when brought to your local recycling center.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Instead of throwing your soda cans away, you need to save them. Take the can and pour any excess liquid out.

  2. Step 2

You can throw the can away as it is or stomp on it to make it compact so that you can put more cans in the trash bag.

  3. Step 3

Now each time you want to save a can, put it in a trash bag. I find that the big 45 gallon trash bags work the best. They are heavy duty and hold a large amount of cans.

  4. Step 4

When you are satisfied with the amount you have collected load it up in your car, truck, or trailer and haul it to your local aluminum recycling center ( you can call around in your local phone book to find the best prices). My local recycling center pays about .60 cents a pound. This amount can fluctuate from time to time, so check often.

  5. Step 5

Finally take your cash and spend it wisely!

Tips & Warnings
  • Try to keep your cans somewhere that bugs won't get into it
  • Be sure to watch the people at the recycling ceter if you can to prevent them from paying you anything less than you are owed
