Things You'll Need:
- 1/2 C butter
- 1/2 C white sugar
- 1/2 C brown sugar
- one egg
- peanut butter
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp vanilla
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1 1/4 C flour
- 1/2 package chocolate chips
- For icing use:
- 1 1/2 C confectioner's sugar
- 1/4 C peanut butter
- Small amount of milk
-
Step 1
Mix the butter and sugars. Let the butter soften before adding for easy mixing.
-
Step 2
Add the rest of the ingredients one at a time, mixing after you add each ingredient. Spoon the mixture into an ungreased 9 x 13 pan and smooth out using a spatula or butter knife.
-
Step 3
Bake in a pre-heated 350 oven for 15 to 20 minutes. When done, the top should be slightly brown.
-
Step 4
Remove from the oven and immediately sprinkle 1/2 package of chocolate chips over the peanut butter fingers. Dark or milk chocolate chips can be used depending on your preference.
-
Step 5
Mix together 1/4 C peanut butter, the confectioner's sugar and enough milk to make a smooth icing. Add a small amount of milk at a time until you reach the right consistency. Spread the icing over the chocolate chips, swirling with a butter knife to mix in the chocolate chips.
-
Step 6
Let the peanut butter fingers cool, cut and serve. Store in an airtight container.
