If you are in leadership or your homeschool support group, or want to plan a homeschool graduation for your child, then pay attention because planning a homeschool graduation is easier than you might think.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Register your graduates early. You should know by January who will be graduating, so you can order caps and gowns and have diplomas made.

  2. Step 2

Secure a location for the ceremony. If your homeschool support group is Christian, then you might want to use a church. If your group is secular, a fraternal lodge or a banquet hall would be appropriate.

  3. Step 3

Calculate all of the expenses and decide how they will be dispersed between the graduating families. If your homeschool support group has a budget for graduation then you're in luck.

  4. Step 4

Consider planning a fundraiser for graduation related expenses. Graduates and their families can wash cars, have a bake sale, a rummage sale or work odd jobs together.

  5. Step 5

Order invitations from a printer and invite a photographer to take senior portraits.

  6. Step 6

Consider surprising the graduates with a dance or party after the ceremony.

Tips & Warnings
  • Take lots of pictures
  • If you'll be having a lot of families attend, consider hiring a caterer or making it a potluck.
