You don't have to age gracefully without a fight. You can stay looking younger naturally without cosmetic or plastic surgery. A few simple changes to your beauty regimen can help you stave off the wrinkles and the years.
Things You'll Need
- Tooth whitener
Stop smoking. Smoking damages collagen and elastin needed for strength and elasticity of skin which contribute to sagging and wrinkles.
Avoid the damaging effects of the sun by applying a moisturizer with an SPF of at least 15 and antioxidants everyday to your face and neck. Ultraviolet light speeds up the natural process of aging by causing wrinkles, rough and blotchy skin.
Get plenty of "beauty sleep" (8 hours). Sleep allows your body time to rejuvenate itself and prevents bags and circles under the eyes.
Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables rich in antioxidants (apples, spinach, tomatoes, etc). Antioxidants have been proven to fight free radials which damage cells ability to repair itself.
Moisturize your skin. Apply a moisturizer or lotion to your body, hands, neck and face containing; Vitamin A to improve elasticity and reduce the appearance of wrinkles, Vitamin C to promote collagen formation, and Vitamin E to minimize lipid loss.
Gently exfoliate. Regularly exfoliate your skin to remove dead skin cells and revealing newer, undamaged cells.
Exercise at least 30 minutes per day. Exercise keeps your muscles flexible and tone, which provides a younger look.
Take care of your teeth. Yellow teeth are a sign of age. Whitening your teeth helps to remove stains and takes years off of your smile. Flossing helps fight gingivitis which leads to receding gums another sign of aging.
Dress appropriately. Wearing short skirts and halter tops when your over 30 doesn't make you look younger it just screams "I'm too old to be wearing this." A classy yet stylish look is always in order.
