How to Deal With A Crazy Boss
At some point in your career, you'll probably be faced with the challenge of a crazy boss. If you encounter this type of boss, save your time and energy and don't try to change the person -- you won't be able to. You can only control how you handle the situation.

1
Do your job. If your crazy boss allows your slacker co-workers to get away with doing the bare minimum while he or she piles the work on you, don't tire yourself out by crying about the unfairness of it all. Just do what is asked of you. See it as experience gained.
-
2
Track your work by keeping a record of all of your projects and duties. This will come in handy if your crazy boss falsely blames you for something or credits someone else for your good work.
-
-
3
Know that your boss's crazy behavior is not your fault. The behavior is just a manifestation of larger, underlying issues. Usually, these people have major insecurities that they have harbored since childhood.
-
4
Conduct yourself professionally at all times. By presenting yourself as a hardworking employee with integrity, you are actually setting an example for your crazy boss.
-
5
Go to your boss's supervisor if the behavior gets out of hand. He or she may have issues, but there is no reason for your boss to be abusive to you or your coworkers. If the craziness is affecting your job performance, your boss's supervisor will want to hear about it.

Tips & Warnings
While playing along with the craziness, don't allow yourself to actually become consumed within the craziness.
We all have our limits. Once the craziness becomes too much to handle, plan your escape and follow through.

Oh yes. I remember going through this one. Thanks for writing the article. Tracking what you do on the job is a great idea. I remember when I was tracking my work, it gave me a templete to really see all that I was doing on the job. When my boss would ask me what I was doing I'd show her the sheet. Later I applied those skill sets to my new resume. From time to time I would look at that tracking sheet to revive confidence within myself when I went out looking for a new job. Thanks again - Behappy -

This is a great (unspoken) subject presented well. Crazy bosses can consume you.Documenting what's happening is useful too, along with an escape route.
