1
Remove EVERYTHING from the storage shed.
-
2
Start the organization process by placing "like" items in piles. This will give you a visual of how much storage space is needed for each group of items.
-
-
3
Make a JUNK pile that you WILL discard. Don't put the same junk you no longer need back inside the shed. (That's not organization - that's re-arranging.)
-
4
Once you have everything out of the shed and separated into piles - start forming your battle plan of how to organize it all more efficiently.
-
5
Consider adding shed shelves, peg board, hooks, cabinets, etc...
-
6
Condense items stored in containers to containers that better fit the contents that are in them. Then re-use the larger containers for items that are more appropriate for the larger containers.
-
7
Consider adding a loft for extra storage. This is a good way to store items that are rarely used (such as Christmas decorations) safely out of the way, without taking up any needed floor space.
-
8
Once you have all the shed shelves, peg board, hooks, and cabinets in place - bring everything back into the storage shed... in an organize manner, of course.
