Things You'll Need:
- An Extra Bucks card
- A CVS store nearby
-
Step 1
Go to the CVS website or your local store and sign up for a card. It will take a few days to receive the card by mail if you do it online. You will get the card immediately if you go into the store.
All of the deals are tied to your Extra Bucks (EB) account card number - they track the amount of times you've done a deal (there are limits) and they print off your Extra Bucks for you. You need your EB card. -
Step 2
Pick up the CVS weekly flier as well as the CVS monthly flier. The monthly flier will have "FREE AFTER EXTRA BUCKS" items - usually on the first and last page, and often times more items inside the pages. There are many websites that follow the deals closely, so check them out - links below.
-
Step 3
Start out with one or two items until you get the hang out it. Buy a couple of items that will be entirely Free After Extra Bucks.
When you buy the item your Extra Bucks will print at the bottom of your receipt - there is no way to recover the EB if you lose them, so hold onto the receipt! -
Step 4
You will be putting some money into the Free After Extra Bucks items, however you will be getting back that same amount of money.
This is now where the FREE really rings true... -
Step 5
Now that you have some Extra Bucks for yourself buy some more items that are either Free After Extra Bucks or free after EB and coupons.
Spend only the amount that you have in EB - you will pay either tax or nothing (depending on your cashier) and you will get more EB back for your items! This is called "rolling." -
Step 6
Often times you are able to "make money" on EB items when the item is combined with a coupon. Making money means that you will receive more Extra Bucks than you are spending on the item. You aren't actually "making money" in the sense that you will get cash, but you are increasing the amount of EB that you have at no cost or loss to you.
