Since your child is hyperactive and impulsive, he/she is at risk for injury; therefore safety is the first priority need.

Consult a pediatrician. Once your child is diagnosed with the disorder, the doctor may prescribe medicines that will decrease the signs and symptoms of it.

Limit foods that contain ingredients which may cause hyperactivity such as chocolate, sweet candies and soda. Too much carbohydrate containing food causes hyperactivity so you have to know which foods have high content of carbohydrates. Do not deprive just limit.

Provision of adequate nutrition is the second priority need of the child. Vitamins and minerals rich food are of good choice.

Provide adequate hydration because a hyperactive child easily sweats.

Close observation of your child.
