Things You'll Need:
- Large frying pan
- cooking oil ( any kind you prefer)
- Steak or store bought cube steak
- Flour
- eggs
- salt & pepper
- a clove of garlic
- 1 onion
- Onion powder
- Garlic powder
- Cajun Spice

Step 1
THE MEAT
You can buy cube steaks
OR
As I lke tyo do, I buy 1/2 thick round steak & pound it till it is aprox 1/4 inch thick -
Step 2
SEASON THE MEAT
Get a large seasoning shaker , Put 2 tablespoons EACH of Salt , Black Pepper , onion powder , garlic powder & Cajun Spice into the shakers
Season both side of the meat -
Step 3
THE ONION & GARLIC & This is the secret to SOUTHERN FRIED FOOD
Chop 1/2 a medium onion it to large chunks
Smash & chop 1 garlic clove -
Step 4
THE OIL
Get a large frying pan & pour in 1/2 inch of cooking oil
ADD the chopped onions & garlic to the oil
Start heating the oil to aprox 425 F.
The onions & garlic will stay in the oil the whole time the meat is cooking , It will get all black & crusty looking , BUT that is OK , it is in there to season the oil & not to eat. -
Step 5
COATING THE MEAT
As the oil heats
Scramble a few eggs & pour into a shallow dish
Get another shallow dish & put a few cups og flour in it
Coat both sides of the meat with flour
Qickly dip into thye eggs
& them back into the flour -
Step 6
COOKING THE MEAT
CAREFULLY put the coated meat into the hot oil with the onions & garlic
Cook on both sides for aprox 10 minute till Golden Brown
When Done , Place on a rack or paper towels to drain the excess oil -
Step 7
COUNTRY GRAVY
1 1/2 cups Milk , 1 Cup chicken broth , Heat on low & stur in flour a little at a time till thickens , Salt & pepper to tast
You can add breakfast sausage Chopped VERY FINE if you like
