Things You'll Need:
- Food rich in zinc
- Zinc supplements - pills or liquid
-
Step 1
Buy foods with a high zinc content. Studies show that eating foods that are rich in zinc will help to prevent or reduce acne. To help get you started look at the following foods list. These are rich in zinc: herring, blackstrap molasses, liver, soybeans, sunflower seeds, maple syrup, egg yolks, lamb, chicken, oats, whole wheat, rye, corn, beef, coconut, beets, turkey, walnuts, beans, avocados, bleu cheese and peas.

Step 2
The list above shows some of the foods richest in zinc in milligrams for less than a four ounce portion. Taking a liquid zinc supplement in addition to eating these foods will also help skin become acne-free and produce visibly improved pores. For information on zinc studies and how it affects the skin you can read Foods That Heal by Maureen Kennedy Salaman.

Step 3
ZincIt's important to take the right amount of zinc to produce these type of results. The appropriate amount of elemental zinc mineral is a total of 100 to 150 milligrams three times a day. Taking it with each meal will produce a significant improvement in acne-prone skin.

Step 4
You can buy zinc in pill or liquid form from any nutrition store, such as GNC and Vitamin World. It typically cost $6.00 to $8.00. If you decide to take the liquid zinc, mix it with juice to diminish the taste. Be sure to spread out your intake throughout the day and you'll be on your way to acne-free and smooth skin.

Step 5
When you prepare the meats listed above, bake and broil them as much as possible. If you do fry them, use the following oils: canola, soy, safflower, sun flower, or corn. As much as possible, use these oils sparingly. What's good about using them is that they are low in saturated and trans fats and have a higher smoke point, which is best if you are frying foods.
