Classified ads cost $9.95 a month for each ad that you place. The Classified ad is type of listing to list services or products for sale in order to generate multiple leads. Interested customers will fill out a form and correspond directly with the seller. No fees are incurred since nothing is being sold - this is strictly for lead generation and advertising.

Multiple items may be listed on one classified ad.

Create your ad. You may use your own HTML or use an auction template service, such as Seller Sourcebook or Auctiva.(Look at other classified ads to get ideas for style, wording, length, etc.)

Sign into your eBay account and click SELL AN ITEM.

Choose the appropriate category for your ad. (Example - business services, real estate, collectibles, furniture, etc.)

Choose your title and key words carefully. (See my eHow article on eBay key words.)

Post a photo. You can post a photo of the item, your business logo, or a graphic that you create. Again, look at other classified ads to get ideas.

Choose CLASSIFIED AD for listing type. Make sure you include contact information so that prospects can contact you with questions or to purchase the item or service.

Shipping information is not relevant, since the product is not being sold thru the classified ad on eBay.

Your listing will run for 30 days at a cost of $9.95. You may renew or cancel the ad at the end of 30 days.

Evaluate the success of your ad. Did the ad result in any contacts or sales?

Tips & Warnings
Do not copy another seller's ad or photo. This is a violation of eBay policy and your listing can be removed and you can be suspended or removed as a seller.
