Nothing is better than fudgy chocolate brownies warm from the oven. Except, maybe, knowing you made those brownies yourself from scratch rather than using a mix. Does this Spark an idea?

Things You'll Need

  • 3/4 cup flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup butter
  • 2 eggs, well beaten
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 squares unsweetened baking chocolate
  • 1 cup chopped nuts
  • 8-inch square baking pan

Instructions

      Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease the baking dish with butter or cooking spray.

      Combine the dry ingredients in a bowl and set aside.

      In a saucepan over low heat, melt the butter and chocolate squares, stirring until smooth. Allow the chocolate to cool.

      Combine the beaten eggs, vanilla and melted chocolate in a large mixing bowl; stir with a wooden spoon.

      Add the dry ingredients to the chocolate mixture, stirring by hand with a wooden spoon until well combined.

      Fold in the nuts; stir gently.

      Spread the brownie batter evenly into the baking pan. Bake 30 minutes or until center is set.
