How to Pay Nothing to Homeschool

If you need to keep down the cost of homeschooling, there are a lot of free books, all you need to do is to be creative. Limited funds will enhance your creativity. If you plan to homeschool more than one child, you have to save on the cost. Some families homeschool up to 5 children. Why, because they save on the cost of going to school, the book fees, clothes, field trips, and school sales. This can add up to a lot of money.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Trips to library.
  • Buy used books from your library for at less as 25 cents.
  • Buy a bag of books for $1.00.
  • Go to thrift shops for books or resale shops.
  • Save books from other kids, grades that they studies.
  • Computer & printer.
  1. Step 1

    The library is an excellent source to check out the books you need and use them to study and test on the subject matter. You can check our the CD's and books together. Or, you can check out books on tape for easy listening and test them on what they learned. This will enhance their listening ability. There are also videos on foreign languages.

  2. Step 2

    There is also a basic skills put out by Mc Graw and Hill that is found on the internet: www.mkkids.com. This site covers the basic skills of reading, writing, math and vocabulary. You will also need to add science, social studies and some spelling. The CD covers some 600 pages and it is free.

  3. Step 3

    You can also get addition information from McGraw & Hill one of the largest publishing companies that has another division called the American Education Publishing: www.mkkids.com. this is the same as their regular site, however they have an extensive book that you can purchase for low cost. You can also get free lesson plans at: www.instructionalpair.com/cgi-bin/IFG_US.storefront, there you can get 36 weeks of lesson plans.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can research on the internet any subject matter that you need and print for your child or children. Make up a test and keep the scores and results.
  • You can also use the encyclopedias that are available to make test and redo for teaching.
  • Use books that you have on hand, or at your church.
  • There are a lot of free sources that are available, look around and ask other parents that are homeschooling.
  • Don't be afraid to make mistakes.
  • use your school's library or college library for other sources.
