Bringing a pet into the home is a difficult choice when there is any type of financial burden. Therefore, it is important to make sure that there is a good sense of what it requires concerning time, energy, and money.

  • Plenty of information on the pet of your choice from Web sites, magazines, etc.
  • Money set aside only for the pet's food and possible medical attention.
  • Consider toys/treats that are appropriate for the pet.
  • Choosing a veterinarian for the special pet.
  1. Step 1

    Explain to your family how important having a pet would be to your life. Provide powerful examples that show how the impact would benefit them too.

  2. Step 2

    Educate your family about exotic pets in particular. For instance, some family members may be hesitant about introducing lizards as pets. Perhaps, they could have a fear and that must be taken into account. Read and provide information from magazines with habits of the pet of your choice.

  3. Step 3

    Provide statistics that help your case to getting a pet. Going to pet forums is a good place to get genuine information from actual pet owners. This may help a parent or spouse decide in your favor of getting the pet quicker.

  • Be an expert on the pet and their breeds.
  • Take time to research the responsibility and the typical lifespan of the pet.

on 12/16/2008 I was like is that a snake, OH heck no when I first saw the pic for the opening of this article.. then I clicked on the pic and saw a kitten hiding. How cute. These sound like strong tips for asking for a pet in a family
