Have a taste for a classic treat this fall season? Why not make some yummy candied apples? They're a hit for the young and the old!

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Wooden popsicle sticks
  • 15 apples
  • candy thermometer
  • 2 cups of white sugar
  • 1 cup of white corn syrup
  • 1 1/2 cups of water
  • red food coloring
  • wax paper
  1. Step 1

First wash and dry all of your apples. Stick in wooden popsicle sticks at the top of the apples. Set them aside.

  2. Step 2

Mix together corn syrup, water, a few drops of red food coloring, and sugar together in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Keep track of the temperature with your candy thermometer. You'll want the heat to be around 310 degrees F. Drop a drop of the mixture into ice cold water. It should become hard when dropped.

  3. Step 3

Take an apple one by one and begin to swirl it into the mixture.

  4. Step 4

Place finished apples onto the wax paper and let set for a few minutes.

  5. Step 5

    Enjoy your classic treat!!!
