    • Sheet
    • Quilt batting
    • Sewing machine
    • Yarn
    • Raffle tickets
      • 1

Decide what size quilt you want to make. Then purchase a flat sheet the size of your quilt. This will be used for the back of the quilt so choose a fabric that will compliment your project.

      • 2

Purchase quilt batting, the size of your sheet. Purchase yarn, that will be used to tie the quilt together when assembling.

      • 3

Decide the size of the squares or other shapes you want on your quilt and how many will be needed for the project.

      • 4

Find local organizations in your community that would like to participate. You might approach businesses, civic groups and even the local fire or police station. Each one will be asked to supply one quilt square, which represents their group. They supply the fabric and design and prepare the square. The only rule is that all squares must be the same size, and you may want to determine a standard for the fabric thickness.

Begin selling raffle tickets for the quilt. Target the members of the organizations who supplied a square.

      • 6

Collect the completed squares, and use your quilting skills to sew the squares together, and assemble the squares, using ties.

      • 7

Display the finished quilt in a public location like a public library. This will encourage people to buy raffle tickets.

      • 8

Hold your raffle and contact the winner.
