Use Coupons

Using coupons is an efficient way to help save yourself and your household money. The use of coupons alone isn't enough to actually help you save money. There are some tricks and tips - it's almost like an art form all on its' own.

Instructions

    • 1

Each week collect as many coupon inserts as you possibly can. Resources to get them for free include; local schools, libraries, neighbors, friends and family and dumpsters. The more coupon inserts you have the more efficient your couponing will be.

    • 2

Organize your coupons efficiently. I have found it useful to clip the coupons from each insert and display them in baseball card organizers. I keep them organized and labeled according to date and which insert they came out of. Then I keep all the excess coupon inserts (uncut) sorted by date in a messenger style bag.

Pay attention to sales - especially at your stores that double or triple coupons. There are many sites out there that track store sales and matching coupons to help you find the best deals. Check the resources at the bottom.

Keep a notebook on items that you frequently buy - keep a log on what the normal price is for items and what the rock bottom price is that you've ever gotten for that item. When the item goes on sale - combined with coupons - for the rock bottom price stock pile the item.

Stock pile items as you find them on sale. Having as many coupon inserts as you can get will enable you to be able to buy more items less expensively.

Tips & Warnings

  • Coupons really can bring the price of items down - even cheaper than store brand items.
