There's nothing quite like a warm, thick, chewy chocolate chip cookie. This old-fashioned version takes about 20 minutes to prepare and 15 minutes to bake. For a more festive-looking cookie, mix some M&M's in with the chocolate chips. Does this Spark an idea?

Things You'll Need

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 2 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 3 cups quick cooking oats
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

    • 1

      Preheat the oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit.

      In a large bowl, mix together the butter and sugars until the dough is fluffy. Beat the eggs in a different bowl, then mix them and the vanilla into the large bowl.

      Add the flour, baking soda, salt and cinnamon. Mix in the oats and stir in the chocolate chips.

      Grease a tablespoon and a cookie sheet. Scoop up a heap of the cookie mix and drop it on the cookie sheet. Each scoop should have at least 2 inches around it on all sides.

      Bake for about 12 minutes in the oven. Remove the cookies from the cookie sheet and let them cool on a wire rack.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can use M&M's instead of the chocolate chips , It make the cookies more colorful & festive looking. Chocolate chips seem to come out creamier than M&M's in the finished product
