Step 1
Find members who you have a common interest with. Search for articles about your favorite hobbies. Go to the member’s profile and click the "Add to Friends" button. eHow will send the member a message letting them know you have requested to be their friend and also asks if they would like to add you to their Friend’s List as well. You will get an email of the approval.

Step 2
Search for your hometown. Many members here write about happenings in their hometown, which may very well be yours! Click "members" at the top of the menu and enter your State in the search bar. Profiles of members from your state will list here. Visit the member’s profiles and add the ones you like to your friend’s list.

Step 3
Rate, comment and forward great articles. While searching for your hobbies and hometown, did you find an article you'd like to share? Commenting and rating are great ways to make friends. Rate the articles you find entertaining, useful or well written and pass them on to a friend. Let the writer know you’ve shared it by sending them a quick message and add them as your friend. They will be sure to return the favor!
