Step 1
Something that everyone has in their homes is a shower liner. I used to buy cheap vinyl liners which I would trash when they got moldy. Once my family starting living more eco-friendly, I replaced my vinyl liner with a fabric one. It is made of water and mold proof polyester, is machine washable, and will last for years.

Step 2
This is especially for anyone who has a water hogging toilet. I got this tip from a friend. Rinse a plastic milk jug out, fill it with water and place in your toilet tank. You will use a gallon less of water every time your toilet gets flushed since the milk jug displaces a gallon of water.

Step 3
Throw away your harsh bleaches and detergents. You can clean everything in your home with vinegar, hydrogen peroxide, and baking soda. This will also save you a ton of money on expensive specialty cleaners. I bought two huge re-usable spray bottles and filled one with vinegar and the other with hydrogen peroxide. This also cuts back on the amount of plastic being wasted.

Step 4
Im aware this is outside of your physical home but I have to list it....car pool! Not only will you be decreasing auto emissions, you can get paid for it too. You heard me! Go to www.gortrip.com to learn how.
