Things You'll Need:
- Imagination
- Dedication
- Commitment
- Patience
- A Plan
- A Large Board
-
Step 1
First, you have to know what you want to do. Ask yourself, "What would I do if I didn't get paid for it, and still have the best time of my life? When you get your answer, that's your dream.
-
Step 2
Goal PlannerWrite down your dream. Do a development plan with the timeframes in which you want to achieve it. Set about three goals outlining what you are going to do to reach each goal. Set target dates for achieving each goal. Include resources needed to achieve your goals and how you plan on getting those resources.
-
Step 3
Collect pictures from magazines, newspapers, books, the internet, etc. that reflect your dream. For instance, if your dream is to get a college degree, cut a picture out of a publication showing someone in a cap and gown.
-
Step 4
Dream BoardPost your pictures on a "dream" board and place the board where you will constantly see it. Seeing it all the time will keep the dream in the forefront of your mind, which means you are more likely to do it and fulfill it.
-
Step 5
Find a person who has achieved what you are dreaming of and ask that person to mentor you. The person should be someone who doesn't mind dedicating some time to mentoring you. Take lots of notes, ask lots of questions and listen, listen, listen. You want to glean as much information as possible from your mentor.
-
Step 6
Stick with it, don't give up, and you will achieve your dream!
