Things You'll Need:
- Internet Access
- List of clients' email addresses
-
Step 1
Select a provider. First, you'll need to decide how you want to transport your message. Keep in mind the growing possibilities of your newsletter. If using your email address and entering in individual emails, that could get tedious if the list grows, and you could also have issues with spam filters. For me, a Web-based platform is best because for a small fee you can include graphics and enjoy a professional application.
-
Step 2
Be vibrant. Start your newsletter on a high note, welcoming readers with an overview of what they’ll find as they continue reading. It's OK to throw in some personal information (e.g. "I just returned from a vacation").
-
Step 3
Go with a theme. Choose a monthly topic that connects the reader to your business. I like to use the seasons for my newsletter. In the summer I tend to write about how business can slow down, for example. Or I base the theme on information that's useful to the reader, such as keeping customers engaged.
-
Step 4
Write original content. There's no value in the newsletter without your voice. So write something useful and relevant to your clients (not just about your business!) to fully engage the reader. Use bullet points to make it easy to read.
