Using a Honey and Turmeric facial mask daily is an inexpensive way to prevent blemishes on your face.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Raw Organic Honey
  • Turmeric
  1. Step 1

Purchase A bottle of Raw organic honey, it cost 3-5 dollars more than regular honey. Just use it for your face, and it will last a long time.

  2. Step 2

Pick up a bottle of Turmeric, in the spice isle at your local grocery store. It's pretty inexpensive costing between 2-6 dollars.

  3. Step 3

Get a bottle of gentle foaming face wash. You want a face wash that is fragrance free, noncomedogenic, soap free, and hypo allergenic. The first step to blemish prevention is to not do any damage to your face. The skin on your face is more sensitive than any other area on your body.

  4. Step 4

Use a small cup to mix in the honey and turmeric. Use one table spoon of honey, and one tea spoon of turmeric. Mix really well with a tooth pick, or a fork will do. Now set aside.

  5. Step 5

Use warm water, and wash your face really well with the foaming facial wash, gently scrubbing in circular motions. Pay a little more attention to your T-zone, (forehead, nose, and chin) this is where the most oily parts of your face are. Do this for about 30 seconds to a minute, and rinse thoroughly with warm water. Then pat dry with a clean towel.

  6. Step 6

Now apply the Honey & Turmeric facial mask. Be sure to wear a shirt that you don't mind having stains on, because turmeric will stain your clothes. Make sure all your hair is out of the way, to avoid getting the honey and turmeric in your hair. Apply gingerly all over your face, and gently rub in circular motions all over your face. Be sure to get all the areas around your eye, on your eye lids, and the problem area under your eyes, and in the corners. Once you applied it, allow it to set on your face for 15-20 minutes. Keep some tissue paper with you, because some of the honey will slowly run down your face.

  7. Step 7

Honey has antibacterial properties, chemically similar to hydrogen peroxide, plus honey will also tighten up your skin, reduce the appearance of scars over time, and leave your skin feeling soft.
Turmeric has antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial and anti fungal properties. It will check excess oil without drying out your skin. It also acts as a gentle exfoliant.

  8. Step 8

After about 20 minutes, when your ready to wash it off. First use a tiny dab of your foaming face wash, without any water, cover it on your face, and rub gently in circular motions, like your gently polishing your face, do not scrub hard. With the facial wash, honey and turmeric on your face, this will act as a gentle exfoliant to slough off dead skin, dirt, and oil. After lightly scrubbing for a minute, use warm water to rinse it all off. Now, turn the water ice cold, and use just the foaming face wash, and wash off a second time to clean off any remaining turmeric and honey, make sure to clean your eyes and eye brows really well, and the opening of your nostrils. Now rinse off with cold water until clean. The cold water is important, it will tighten your pores, after you've cleaned, making it less likely for dirt and oil to get trapped in.
