Get Paid for Doing Surveys

Everyone is looking to make some extra cash especially with rising gas and food prices. However, finding an extra job can be difficult and time consuming. There is a simple solution to people with an email account and a spare 20 minutes everyday. Completing online surveys for money or points to be redeemed for cash or gift certificates is as simple as answering a few questions.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Finding reputable online survey companies will be the hardest part of the process. Simply searching for online surveys in Google can yield unpredictable results to survey sites that may promise money but never deliver. So, do some research before you sign up for survey sites and find a company you are comfortable with. Create an account on the site. Some sites to consider include Test Spin, Opinion Outpost and U Talk Back.

  2. Step 2

Certain survey sites will only reward with points that can be redeemed for prizes, cash and gift certificates. If you are only looking to be paid in cash make sure the company you work with will ultimately pay you in cash or check. A great cash only survey site is Survey Spot, which mails you a check when you earn a minimum of $5.

  3. Step 3

Once you create an account, survey companies typically have a mandatory questionnaire for you to complete so they can get a better understanding of your profile. Based on this questionnaire they will email you survey opportunities. These are the surveys you complete for cash. If you qualify to complete the survey your payment will take four to six weeks to go into your account.

  4. Step 4

The surveys are all opinion-based and they are most often market research for a company. They can range from your thoughts on the next week's "People" cover or your thoughts on a new video game that is being created. The value of each survey can range from $2 to $35 depending on the importance of the subject and how long it takes for you to complete. However, many surveys only require about 20 minutes to complete.

  5. Step 5

The cash out process varies from site to site, so pay attention to to how your site pays you. A popular way for many sites to pay participants is through PayPal, so you may need to create PayPal account. Another way to increase your points or cash is to recommend your survey site to friends and family. Many companies give you a bonus for referring people.

Tips & Warnings
  • The more surveys you complete the more surveys they send you.
  • The more survey sites you belong to the more money you will get.
  • Payment usually takes four to six weeks to be deposited into your account, so be patient when your waiting for your payday.
  • Some sites only pay you in points to be redeemed for gifts or gift certificate.
  • You have to wait for the survey company to send you surveys so don't expect to make a living off of completing surveys. You can make a lot of money but it make take longer than you expect.
