Sending a fax to the Philippines may seem a bit more complicated than your typical fax. However, it just takes knowing a few more codes than faxing domestically. Instructions

1. Find a fax machine. Make sure the fax machine comes with a service plan that would allow for international faxes. If your fax machine is capable of sending international faxes, prepare your papers to be faxed.

2. Dial "9" if necessary. "9" allows you to fax outside a business or institution. Find out if your organization requires you to dial "9" in order to get an external dial tone.

3. Dial "011". This code is known as the international access code. The international access code allows a person to fax or make a phone call outside of the United States.

4. Dial "63". This code is the Philippines' country code. Each country has a specific country code that is used for faxes or phone calls.

5. Dial the city code. For example, the city code for Manila is "2."

6. Dial the local fax machine number.

7. Press "Send". Wait until the processing fax sound is completed. The fax machine will inform you on whether or not the fax was successful. Some fax machines are actually programmed to print out a confirmation status report.

• The codes are the same codes that are used when making an international phone call. The only difference is that the local number is a fax machine number and not a telephone number.
