Gather your tools. Depending on what types of crafts you prefer, you will need several different types of tools. If you like making wreaths, for example, then you will need wire cutters, floral wire, scissors and possible a glue gun. If garlands are more your style, you will need a sturdy needle and some tough thread or fishing line. If you like centerpieces and mantle decorations, you may need a hammer, tacks, tin foil and floral foam.

Compile supplies. You will probably need to visit an arts and crafts store or a hobby boutique. You should buy silk, colored leaves, gold spray paint, wreath foundations and possibly some mini lights. Depending on your preference you may also wish to purchase large pine cones and greenery if you do not have access or the desire to trek through the woods for materials.

Take a hike. Take a walk in the autumn woods to collect natural components for your craft kit. You should pick up greenery, pine cones, interesting rocks, beautiful leaves and anything else that makes you feel happy that fall has arrived. You can carry it all in a large box or place it in a tote bag if you wish.

Harvest some supplies. If you grow gourds, pumpkins, apples or brightly colored berries, you can harvest them to provide components for centerpieces, garlands and porch decorations. If you do not have these items in your garden, you can always purchase them at the local garden store or even buy them from the grocery in many cases.

5
Put everything together in a central spot. The best thing to do is put related items together. For example, if you have tools but no tool box, then place all your tools in a shoe box. You can also place outdoor items of similar sizes in one box, wire, string and twine in another and leaves and flowers in a third. If your leaves and flowers are not silk, you may need to press them until you are ready to use them. Put all the small boxes in the large box and label it "Autumn Decorating Kit." Now, you are ready to begin your fall decorating.

Tips & Warnings
If you bring in lots of items from outdoors, then you will need to be certain that they are bug-free. You can either spray them with a plant-friendly pesticide or leave them outdoors in the cold overnight to discourage invaders.
