      Remove the Playstation 3 from its packaging, along with all of the cords and wireless controller.

      Situate the Playstation 3 next to your television, or in a nearby location, placing it horizontally or vertically, whichever way you prefer.

      Plug your surge protector into the wall.

      Connect the AV cord that came with your Playstation 3 into the corresponding port on the back of the console.

      Connect the other end of the AV cord (the one with 3 distinctly colored ends) into the corresponding ports on your television.

      Plug the power cord from the Playstation 3 into your surge protector.

      Turn the surge protector's master power switch to the "On" setting.
